Julian Lopez picked up his first racket in 1981, at age 12, and never put it down. He played at Oral Roberts University, turned pro in 1990, and has coached ever since, spending 30 to 40 hours a week on the court for more than 35 years.
That’s tens of thousands of lessons, and tens of thousands of hours picking up balls with baskets that weren’t up to the job:
